Continuing the Father’s Deed

21.09.2017

The bucket-wheel excavator operator – Sergey Aleksandrovich Grigoriyev – representing one of the glorious labor dynasties of Bogatyr Coal LLP has been working in the coal industry for thirty-six years by now. All started in the far 50-ies when his father – Aleksandr Nikolayevich Grigoriyev – came to Ekibastuz from Kokshetau region. Having received the mining specialty, he as the young specialist arrived to work at Tsentralny mine. The labor path of Aleksandr Nikolayevich was similar to the biographies of hundreds of age mates. His first profession was a nizhnik, the obligations of who was technical maintenance of a mining machine. The process of professional becoming of a promising specialist was going parallel to his study in the institute. After the graduation from the institute Aleksandr Nikolayevich was appointed to be a foreman; some time later as a drainage mine head, then an assistant of Tsentralny mine director. For several years before his retirement he held the position of Chief Miner in Ekibastuzugol Production Association. Following the example of their father his sons chose his profession. The eldest son, Igor, worked as an assistant operator at the mine, currently he lives in Russia. The younger son, Sergey Aleksandrovich, continues the deed of his father. Like Aleksandr Nikolayevich, he came to work at the coal mine after the graduation of the mining technical secondary school by the specialty "Mining Electrician". He started to work at Bogatyr coal mine as an assistant to a bucket-wheel excavator operator. Sergey calls Boris Gudymenko, Excavator Operator, as his tutor in the profession. In 1982 Sergey was drawn to the color; he served in the army honestly for two years, then he came back to the native enterprise. He was employed as an assistant to a #3611 shovel excavator operator at Stepnoy.

- Mainly we worked on the overburden and at the waste dump, - Sergey Aleksandrovich says.

- I had some short period of time when I moved to work in the Technical Control Department and worked on a sampling machine. But he came back to Bogatyr mine again in 1995 as an assistant to a bucket-wheel excavator operator; a little bit later he became an operator. After the relocation of our bucket-wheel excavator #1106 to Severny mine the crew was transferred to the excavator #1105, where I have been working till the present time.

Currently the dynasty of the Grigoriyev is continued by the son Yevgeniy, who works as an electric repairman at Mining and Transportation Equipment Maintenance Plant.

- He is in good books at the plant, he is respected for professionalism and responsible attitude to work,

- Sergey Aleksandrovich says proudly.

- I have always taught him to fulfill his work honestly; I give the similar advice to all young miners.
