Bogatyr Employees – to Independence Jubilee.
The Kazakhstani-Russian coal mining joint venture – Bogatyr Coal, LLP – has done the great work on industrial and innovation development by the 20-th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Last year Bogatyr mine finished the reconstruction of the transportation scheme, which allowed increasing the productivity of the main equipment by 20%. This jubilee year the company miners are intended to sell 40 mm tons of coal.
One of Bogatyr Coal, LLP employees – Beibit Orazgaliev, rotary excavator operator, was awarded by Kurmet award on the eve of Kazakhstan independence jubilee. The labor of the whole crew has been concentrated in the award.
2008 takes a special place in the chronicle of achievements of Bogatyr Coal, LLP. That year Bogatyr employees exceeded the achieved results of the past years and produced 46,2 million tons of coal! All the company employees made big efforts in modernization of production processes, improvement of coal mining and transportation technology, training personnel to work in market conditions.
On December 11, 2008 at Bogatyr coal mine there was the very significant event – the loading of 100 millionth ton of Kazakhstani coal. This honorable right was given to Bogatyr coal mine as to the most advanced coal mining enterprise in the whole country. At the solemn meeting there was Pavlodar Oblast Akim present.
The railroad train with 100-millionth ton went to Ekibastuz power plant #1, which was the largest customer of Bogatyr coal.
The work was done by the collective of mining section #1 headed by Ibragim Dosmukhambetov.
The section can be also called as the training area, where new technologies are tested. For example, in the middle of August of 2004 the coal and overburden loading complex was commissioned here. On the territory of CIS countries there are no analogues of such a unique complex. The productivity of the conveyor and railroad mining complex is 14 million of blended coal per year. Over 3,8 billion tenge was invested in this project by the company.
At the beginning of February 2002 at Severny coal mine the important event took place: at the depth of 400 m under the ground the cross slit of shaft #1 took place. It meant the construction of the drainage mine, which lasted for 14 years, finished.
At the beginning of September of 2005 Severny complex of Bogatyr coal mine was converted to the work by the new – truck and railroad – technology of coal mining and transportation. The company invested over 2,5 billion tenge in the project.
The past six years showed the high perspective of the technology, the basis of which is the modern machinery. It is the EKG-15 excavators, Komatsu, Caterpillar and BelAZ large trucks, and also other auxiliary operations and maintenance equipment.
Thanks to its introduction, Severny complex ships up to 10 mm tons of blended coal with less than 2% ash content deviation annually.
The experience accumulated at Severny coal mine was implemented successfully at Bogatyr coal mine, which was the first stage of conversion to the cycle and flow, or truck and conveyor technology, which has already reached the phase of active completion. The construction of lifting conveyors will start as soon as in 2012.
From 2009 Bogatyr Coal, LLP started upgrading its bucket-wheel and shovel excavators. Seven SRs(K)-2000 rotary excavators work on mining coal now. Three of them have been already upgraded, the works on the fourth one will be finished in 2012.
Five EKG-series shovel excavators and two ESh 13/50 draglines have been also upgraded.
The final accord of the expiring jubilee year of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Bogatyr Coal, LLP has been the commissioning of the new EKG-15 shovel manufactured by OJSC Izhora Plants-KARTEX.
The cooperation of Ekibastuz coal miners and Izhora plants employees started in the far seventies of the last century. For over forty years several tens of shovels of different modifications were delivered here. Currently 26 Izhora EKG shovels work at Bogatyr coal mine alone.
The company concluded the contract for delivery of four EKG-15 shovel excavators. In November 2011 the assemblies and aggregates of the second “giant” came to the assembly site of Bogatyr. The two remaining machines will come to the mine in 2012.
The cycle and flow technology of coal mining is the innovative approach to the resolution of the tasks on increasing the production volumes and efficiency. It falls very well in the program on the forced industrial and innovative development of the country for the nearest perspective. Its basis is the shovels, large trucks, crushers, conveyors, blending complex with a stockpile for almost 600 thousand tons of coal, and the loading complex, which will provide the reduction of the turn-round of rail cars by three times – from 15 down to 5 hours. This will allow increasing the production capacity of the company by eight million tons of coal. That is, to the extent required by the coal market additionally by 2016-2017.
Bogatyr Coal, LLP produces coal developing continuously. In 2008 at Bogatyr coal mine and in 2005 at Severny coal mine two modern technical maintenance points were built for automotive engineering called Pit-stops. The transportation scheme of Bogatyr mine was reconstructed, including the construction of ten new railroad stations, including Karabidaik, Usrednitelnaya, Batys, Shygys, Tranzitnaya, Razvyazka, and Peredovaya rail stations.
Bogatyr Coal, LLP is a highly mechanized coal mining enterprise, which is considered to be one of the strongest players at the coal market of CIS countries. The enterprise is striving to maintain the reputation constantly organizing the production process by international standards. The image is supported by concrete deeds. Particularly, in 2006 the Quality Management Systems according to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 were introduced, and also the international standards of nature protection – ISO.
The success of the company in 2008 was marked by high awards and deserved recognition. The enterprise was also honored by the Administration of Ekibastuz town for labor achievements in the operations by a Certificate of Honor.
Bogatyr Coal, LLP continues the remarkable traditions laid by the elder generation of the miners.
From the first days of the production activity in Ekibastuz coal basin the miners consider the resolution of social issues of the collective as their first priority. That is why, the company is considered to be a socially-oriented enterprise.
The company was awarded for the big contribution in development of the social sphere of Pavlodar region many times. In 2007 Bogatyr Coal, LLP became to winner of the nomination called “The Most Efficient Contribution” of the competition “Good-doer of the Year”. Participating in the republican competition on social responsibility of business “Paryz” the enterprise took the third prize in the nomination “The Best Collective Agreement”, and in 2009 the enterprise became third out of 60 big business subjects in the nomination “The Best Socially-Responsible Enterprise”.
In 2010 the company took the first place in the fourth republican competition “Altyn Zhurek- 2010” in the nomination “For Sport Support and Development”. The fancy statuette with “the golden heart” and the honorable diploma became one more recognition of the great services of the collective in development of mass sport, and also sponsorship and charitable activity.
In March 2011 in Astana at the VI-th international conference “Human Resources Management: Innovations in HR” the results were summarized of the First Kazakhstani Competition “Senim-2010” and the best employers of the Republic of Kazakhstan were determined in seven nominations.
In the nomination “The Best HR-project” was given to Bogatyr Coal, LLP for the project “Personnel Training and Development”.
Bogatyr Coal, LLP is one of the few enterprises of the town, on balance of which there are the objects of the social and cultural designation. They are the health club, catering service, Beryozka recreation centre and Karlygash children health center. Annually the enterprise allocates tens of millions of tenge for their maintenance.
Meeting the 20th jubilee of independence of Kazakhstan the enterprise collective have done a lot on beautification of the district of the Mining Municipal County of Ekibastuz town. The children playgrounds have been repaired, the new leisure-time facilities have been installed, the gift has been made to school-lyceum # 6 – the all-season football playground has been built, the cover of which was made of modern materials. By the way, it is already the second football playground, which the miners presented to the town.
The tradition continues: the company will continue presenting such playgrounds to town schools annually in the future.
The holiday eve in Ekibastuz has been marked by the solemn lifting of the State Flag. Currently the huge cerulean cloth flies by the wind in the very center of the town reminding the town citizens on the outstanding date in the life of the country. The complex was built and presented to the town as a gift from Bogatyr Coal, LLP.
…A lot has been done. But much more will have to be done in the nearest future. The task of the miners is to convey the modern, equipped by international standards, enterprise to subsequent generations of coal miners to make their life fruitful, interesting, and purposeful.
