MUCH WORK HAS BEEN DONE AND YET MORE IS EXPECTED

Production achievements of the last year and perspective aims of the current year have been spoken about at a meeting of Bogatyr Coal, LLP management with labor collective of the Railway Equipment Maintenance Directorate.

Kairat RGAIBEK, a Deputy General Director for General Issues and Economic Activity has familiarized the participants of the meeting with the results of work for the last year and production plans for the current year.

Main index of any enterprise’s economic activity is volume of produced product. Despite all the difficulties caused by negative tendencies in the world economy, Bogatyr Coal company has succeeded in keeping up the coal mining rate. Actual coal mining in 2014 amounted to 38.0 mln. tons or 97.9 % at planned index of 38.83 mln.tons. This year it is planned to mine and ship 37.0 mln. tons of coal. Total volume of investments for the last year was 6 193.5 mln. tenge, where 826.8 mln.tenge was directed to the technical rearmament. 88.9 mln.tenge was spent by the enterprise for measures on job safety, ecological, industrial and fire safety and 26.5 mln.tenge was spent for measures on resources protection. At the same time 36.1 mln.tenge was spent for improvement of territory of Zhassybai Recreation Centre and other social measures. Science-and-research and project works on development and maintenance of production capacity were fulfilled to the total amount of 154.4 mln.tenge.

The investment portfolio of Bogatyr Coal, LLP for 2015 will amount to 9624.6 mln.tenge totally. In particular, it is expected to begin realization of the first stage of the project on implementation of automobile-and-conveyor technology at Bogatyr Mine for these funds. It is also expected to perform technical rearmament of the current production to the total amount of 1252.8 mln.tenge. So, the following will be fulfilled within the framework of the modernization program: reconstruction of Udarnaya station railway scheme for building of the third weighing-and-dosing point; reconstruction of the current railway scheme of Batys station for its transfer to stationary board of sectors 9 and 10. It is planned to allocate 111.5 mln.tenge for measures on labor protection, ecological, industrial and fire safety; 67,5 mln.tenge – for protection of resources and 4.1 ml.tenge – for improvement of territory of Zhassybai Recreation Centre. In addition to it is planned to fulfill project works on development and maintenance of production capacity to the total amount of 223.9 mln.tenge.

The management of Bogatyr Coal, LLP attaches importance to the issue of social guarantee of employees. The collective agreement, accepted for the period of 2011-2014 has been prolonged to the end of 2015. A whole set of measures was realized in 2014 in accordance with terms of the collective agreement, namely: indexation of tariff rates and base salaries by 5% was carried out in accordance with the inflation rate in Pavlodar region since January 1, 2014. In addition to it the tariff rates and base salaries were increased by 10% since the 1st April of the last year. A bonus on results of 2013 was paid out to the amount of 100% fixed monthly tariff and base salary. It is planned to pay a bonus on results of 2014 in the 1st quarter of 2015. A bonus to the amount of 50% monthly tariff and base salary was paid out on the professional holiday – Miner’s Day. Moreover, in addition to the indexation of tariff rates and base salary, the salary of the company’s employees was increased in 2014 on account of entering a provisional bonus for fulfillment and over-fulfillment of production indices and capacity factors of equipment for 72 workers, who hadn’t been given a bonus before.

A practice to motivate workers, assigned for equipment put into operation newly was continued and agreements for fulfillment of fixed annual volume of mine mass were concluded with excavator teams. In December of 2014 a one-time bonus on results of the year to the amount of 21576.1 tenge was paid out to the excavator teams EKG-15М # 1901 and #1902, EKG-12 UsM #1603 and #1604 and a newly organized team of excavators EKG-12 UsM #1605, which had fulfilled and over-fulfilled the annual plan.

Indexation of tariff rates and base salaries by the inflation rate in Pavlodar region – 7.5 % was carried out to all the company’s employees. In January of 2015 contracts for fulfillment of production volume were concluded with the following: the teams of overburden excavators EKG-12 UsM #1603 and #1604 (continuation of works on the agreements of equipment productivity improvement); stripping shovel EKG-10 #1501, which will be put into operation newly in February, workers of drilling and blasting operation sectors of Bogatyr Mine; the team of large trucks of Komatsu HD785-5 lineup of the Technological Transport Directorate. All the social liabilities envisaged by the collective agreement are being fulfilled.

Improvement of employee’s proficiency is referred to priority issues by Bogatyr Coal, LLP management. Bogatyr Coal, LLP has directed 85 mln.tenge only for expenses connected with external training of 303 employees at refresher courses. 6550 persons have received internal training at the training-and-course center of the company and 12587 persons have been covered by training groups. The total amount of expenses was 6.5 mln. tenge. The Lean Six Sigma methodology, called to improve efficiency of the business processes management is being implemented successfully in the management system of Bogatyr Coal, LLP. Today there are 14 black belt employees and 21 green belt employees at Bogatyr Coal, LLP.

One of important directions of the company’s activity is setting of social partnership with educational institutions. Over 1000 students and pupils take professional practice on the basis of structural subdivisions of the company every year. After finishing of the practice at the training-and-course center of the company the trainees take qualifying exams and get certificates for blue-collar occupations on profile of the training. A dual training program is being realized actively at the company. A permanent partner of Bogatyr Coal, LLP – Ekibastuz Mine-and-Technical College is running target training of 10 persons - on the specialty of «Turner» and as many persons – on the specialty of «Electrical/gas welder». 14 students of town colleges got nominal monthly scholarship to the amount of 20 ths.tenge in 2014. Seven employees of the company, who study at institutions of higher education on the following sought-after specialties, were paid for tuition: «Production Machines and Equipment», «Machine Building», «Transport, Transport Technique and Technology». 3 grants to the amount of 1039800 tenge were appropriated to students of Ekibastuz Engineering-and-Technical Institute, studying on the specialties of «Underground Mining of Raw Materials», «Hydraulic Machines» and a grant to 140000 tenge was appropriated for training on the specialty of «Mine Surveying» to a student of Ekibastuz College of the Engineering-and-Technical Institute. Over 200 persons passed the youth practice at the company since 2009 and 85 of them were employed for permanent work positions.

During 2014 realization of measures according to the Healthy Life-Style program, coordinated by Kazanada, LLP had been continued. Pre-doctor and doctor medical aid with succeeding transportation and hospitalization at medical institutions of the town is rendered in conditions of aid posts. So, for example, work of physiotherapeutic room had been organized on the basis of the aid post of Bogatyr Mine and a Ceragem massage bed had been set up there to prevent and treat the musculoskeletal system diseases. Medics of Kazanada, LLP together with the Healthy Life-Style Center hold actions on prevention of cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system diseases on the basis of the aid post of RGTO plant. 1692 persons had got the planned hospital treatment at private clinics of the town during 2014. 4515 persons had got the outpatient examination and treatment. Agreements for purchase of vouchers to Moiyldy sanatorium and Belokurikha health resort are concluded to prevent and improve the employees ‘health.

A housing program is being implemented successfully at Bogatyr Coal, LLP. 39 employees were given the interest-free loans to the total amount of 32. 4 mln.tenge in 2014 for improvement of housing conditions in accordance with the current Regulation on Order of Granting Loan to Bogatyr Coal, LLP employees.

Bogatyr Coal, LLP takes an active part in social projects of the town and region too. In short, miners have a reason to be proud, as it had been declared at the information meeting – much work has been done and yet more is expected.
