Almost two centuries for 6 people

21.09.2018

The dynasty of the Novikovs has about 180 years of the total labor experience of work at the coal mining enterprise. Almost two centuries for six people - it is not little at all. Because for this time each of them gave a weighty contribution to the development of the enterprise, for which they continue working till the present time.

The Novikovs came to Ekibastuz from the northern Urals, Karpinsk town, in 1969. The head of the family, Kuzma Yelizarovich, was employed as an electric locomotive operator in Loading and Transportation Department, which was an independent organization aforetime specialized in coal and overburden transportation. His spouse, Mariya Mikhailovna, also started to work as an operator. To be frank, of refrigerating units. At a milk plant. That is why, one can easily guess what profession their sons - Aleksandr, Nikolay, and Yury - chose...

All three of them - with a difference of several years - got the specialty of electric locomotive operator' assistant in the Town Professional and Technical Secondary School #163 (currently it is Ekibastuz Mining and Technical Secondary School named after K. Pshenbayev), which was one of the twenty best professional technical secondary schools in the Soviet Union in the past and one of three best ones in the coal industry. That is why, as Aleksandr Kuzmich jokes, 'my student notes were conveyed to younger brothers by inheritance'.

After the study Novikov brothers were employed in Rolling Stock Depot-2 maintaining Udarnaya, Yuzhnaya and Zapadnaya stations. To where their father worked.

This is how their common labor started. They worked in one shift; that is why they were always together - going from home to work and home from work.

- Our mother packed four bags with food, - Aleksandr Novikov remembers smiling, - I can say a refrigerator was empty when four of us went to work.

So, beside each other they worked for many years and became a reliable support for each other not only at home but also at work. Novikov brothers received one more specialty called Diesel Locomotive Operator and went to work to Rolling Stock Depot-1, where Aleksandr Kuzmich became Deputy Chief later on. Then he became Head of Stepnaya station where he currently works.

- The big merit in what I am now belongs to former Head of Rolling Stock Depot-1 Tleuletay Umbetov. He helped me much in my formation. At the very beginning of my work he did not give me a change to get lost, lose heart. He was always teaching me life. Currently I myself am a tutor. Soon I will retire, Aleksandr Novikov says. - Basing on the principles of that man I was building my work with young specialists. Then they were becoming chiefs. Among them there is Head of Rolling Stock Depot-2 Vladimir Rozhok and Head of Udarnaya Rolling Stock Depot Aleksandr Nazarenko. Most important is to see and direct, help people believe in their forces and grow.

At the same place, at Stepnaya Rolling Stock Depot Yury Kuzmich works, and Nikolay Kuzmich works as a diesel locomotive operator, crew leader. Having the labor duty at Ekspluatastiya Rolling Stock Depot Yury Novikov's children - Servicing Depot Foreman Stanislav Novikov and Locomotive Crew Dispatcher Svetlana Karetnikova - continue the family dynasty. Who knows, probably, their children will also become its bright part glorifying a family name of their grandfather and adding years to their labor experience.
