BOGATYR EMPLOYEES INTRODUCE THE INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Ekibastuz, September 14, 2011. In Bogatyr Coal, LLP – the joint venture of the Kazakhstani company Samruk-Energo and the Russian company RUSAL, beginning from March 2011 the international experience on LEAN SIX SIGMA is being introduced. It is widely used in such world largest enterprises as GE, TOYOTA, PHILLIPS. The program is directed at the resolution of production problems, at regulation of such processes, as sales, marketing, calculation of commercial offers, pricing, order processing, and also financial and labor resources management.
Twenty two best employees of the company are being trained in the company training center. Their trainer is Maxim Korenyugin, BMGI consultant.
For the resolution of the most important production tasks these employees, together with the first managers of Bogatyr coal mine, Bogatyr Loading and Transportation Department, Technological Transport Department, Railroad Equipment Maintenance Department, Mining and Transportation Equipment Maintenance Plant, Technical Direction, Personnel Direction, Accounting Department, Finance Direction have determined the subjects of the projects, which are subject to be introduced in the operations.
There are some “bottle necks” on the overburden complex either. One of them is the non-fulfillment of a standard time of loading rail trains by EKG shovel excavators in the section of overburden and waste dump works #1. Deputy Chief Engineer for Railroad Transport of Bogatyr Mine Erlan Sattarov is working on the elimination of this problem. The Project Sponsor is Serik Makarov, Bogatyr Mine Director. One more topic of the day is “The Search of Reserves for Reduction of Duration of BelAZ-75131 Large Trucks Medium Repairs”. Chief Technologist of Technological Transport Department Vitaliy Nakonechny is working on its implementation. The Sponsor is Vitaliy Savchuk, Department Head. There are also the “bottle necks” in the Accounting Department of the enterprise. Such as the reduction of inventory holdings at Bogatyr mine down to a set up standard. The ways to resolve this problem will be given by Galina Bessonova, the Head of the Department on Cost Accounting at Bogatyr Mine. The Project Sponsor is Tatyana Zhulayeva, Chief Accountant of Bogatyr Coal, LLP.
Out of 22 projects put in work 2 have been already finished. It is the project of Vitaliy Nakonechny, and also the project of Tatyana Ikonnikova from Technical Direction “The Change of Railroad Scheme of Mining at Overburden Elevation +60 m of the Working Slope of the Syncline Part of Bogatyr Mine”.
All the projects participants will be given a Green Belt certificate. Then out of the certified Green Belts five employees, who will continue training and get their Black Belt certificates, will be selected. They will be given a right to work on other projects on LEAN SIX SIGMA methodology. The Black Belts will also become a part of the Continuous Improvement Program Management Department. The commencement of their training is scheduled for the end of October 2011.
The second wave of implementation is scheduled for March 2012, but this time without attraction of external consultants. Within the frames of the program it is envisaged that the projects leaders with a Black belt status will train a new group of Green Belts in the methodology. The LEAN SIX SIGMA concept in this regard presents a self-reproducing system.
Upon the implementation of all 22 projects the anticipated economic effect should be 190 million KZT.
