The Additional Agreement on Resumption of the Cycle and Flow Technology Project at Bogatyr Coal Mine was Signed

On December 07, 2017 in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) the additional agreement on resumption of the project implementation on conversion to the cycle and flow technology of coal mining, transportation, blending and loading (hereinafter referred to as the CFT) at Bogatyr coal mine of Ekibastuz coal deposit was signed between Bogatyr Coal LLP (the 50%-daughter organization of JSC Samruk-Emergy) and the German firm ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions AG.
The CFT project presupposes the stage-by-stage conversion of Bogatyr coal mine to the flow technology of coal transportation by conveyor transport to the blending storage places with its further loading on surface loadout complexes. The necessity of the project implementation is connected with the achievement of the depth of mining works, under which the use of railroad transport becomes less efficient.
The project implementation will allow increasing the production capacity of Bogatyr coal mine in coal mining from 32 up to 40 million tons per year, increasing labor productivity, reducing the prime-cost of coal mining and renew fixed assets used on coal transportation and shipment.

Bogatyr Coal LLP is a joint enterprise on opencast coal mining belonging to JSC Samruk-Energo of Kazakhstani Fund of the National Welfare called Samruk-Kazyna and the Russian United Company RUSAL. 60% of the whole coal mined in Ekibastuz coal basin and 40% of the total volume of coal production in the Republic of Kazakhstan fall on the share of Bogatyr Coal LLP. Bogatyr Coal LLP is one of the world largest enterprises on opencast coal mining; its balance reserves are 2,75 billion tons. The production capacity of the enterprise is 42 million tons of coal per year, including 32 million tons on Bogatyr coal mine and 10 million tons of Severny coal mine.
