The Course Towards Technical Modernization

Ekibastuz, April 13, 2017 - In Bogatyr Coal LLP they started to modernize the SRs(K)-2000 bucket-wheel excavator #2147. Having been in operations from the middle of the eighties the mining machine was put on the maintenance site in March this year.

Within the frames of SRs(K)-2000 bucket-wheel excavator #2147 modernization it is presupposed to completely replace the electric equipment, cable products, conveyor drives, bucket wheel, and also the control system, operator's cabs and mechanical assemblies with the worked out technical resource. Currently the specialists of Mining and Transportation Equipment Maintenance Plant jointly with the excavator crew are busy with the repair of a travelling gear of the mining machine. Particularly, the disassembly of reducing gears and tracks was made; rollers have been already repaired, the undercarriage of A support has been already assembled, and the works are carried out on B and C supports. At the same time the preparation works on replacement of a rotary assembly are going on: the disassembly of bucket wheel shovels and drive motors has been made; the reducing gear has been disassembled partially. The necessary spare parts and components for the machine come from Germany, Russia, Ukraine, and also from local manufacturers; some spare parts are manufactured in-house - by the specialists of our Mining and Transportation Equipment Maintenance Plant. At the further stage it is planned to install supports for the counterbalance truss and a rotary boom, what will allow to disassemble all the equipment completely, make its repair or replacement. It is planned to start the disassembly of the old electric equipment - electric equipment boxes, sensors, cable products, cable troughs. As for the most complicated stage - installation of the new electric equipment - the plan is to do it in the second 10-day period of June. According to the approved schedule of works it is planned to finish the modernization of SRs(K)-2000 bucket-wheel excavator #2147 by November 20. By the words of the specialists, the conducted modernization will allow prolonging the term of the excavator exploitation for 10 more years - till 2027. The course of the works fulfillment is under the special control of the management of Bogatyr Coal LLP. The contract supervision of the works fulfillment quality is made by the representative office of Takraf GmbH German company-manufacturer, along with the client. It should be noted that the analogous procedure of technical rearmament at Bogatyr coal mine was carried out at other bucket-wheel excavators - ##1143, 1144, 1145, and 1146 on different years. It is remarkable that it is planned to install absolutely the same electric equipment and control system on SRs(K)-2000 #2147 like on the four preceding machines. In its own turn it will exclude the necessity to train the personnel again how to work on the modernized excavator.
