The Overpass Has Been Started

On the eighteenth of March there was an event at Bogatyr mine. The event was called as a production holiday by miners. The joint Kazakhstan-and-Russian project at the cost of 60 million tenge – a unique automobile overpass with the length of 32 meters constructed over the coal transporting conveyor began to operate there from that day. Its implementation will allow placing the overburden rocks in the mine. The company’s production costs for overburden transportation will be reduced by 21% due to it.

The uniqueness of the overpass is that it is the only in the republic and there is no such a construction at coal enterprises of Kazakhstan according to Karen Airepetyan, head of the Major Construction Department of Bogatyr Coal, LLP. An original arch bridge, made using the advanced technologies – metal corrugated constructions of Gofrostal, Moscow company and geograting ( equal with concrete) of Tensar, British company was constructed over the operating coal conveyor of the conveyor-and-railway complex of coal in the synclinal part of Bogatyr mine indeed. Large trucks with carrying capacity up to 140 tons will transport overburden rocks into the depth of the mine to permanent internal dump on this bridge. Its volume will be up to six million cubes per annum.

Sergei Opanasenko, Deputy General Director – Executive Director of Bogatyr Coal, LLP called the starting of the overpass as the historical moment for the coal company.

- This object allows beginning of formation of permanent internal dump today. Having begun a new stage of development of the enterprise, the overburden rocks will flow to the synclinal due to it. Today I would like to thank them, who have taken part in realization of this big deal.

Sergei Zarapin, Technical Director of Bogatyr Coal, LLP has told that the overpass operation and conversion to the automobile overburden will reduce the company’s costs for overburden operations according to that technology by 21% and will increase the productivity of the coal giant. Worked part of the mine will be filled with overburden rocks while forming internal dump and reducing volumes of overburden storage and land take in external dumps. It will exert the more humane influence on environment ecologically.

Alexander Terentiyev, General Director of Stalmontzh, LLP – general contracting organization involved in construction of the overpass, has noted that the builders made practically impossible thing while speaking before the gathered people. Having reduced the assemblage period and downtime of conveyor up to the minimum, they constructed a strategic object for the largest enterprise of coal industry during half a year, while working under the inclement spring-and-winter conditions.
