The Feeling of Spring and Happiness
On the eve of the International Women’s Day – March 8th – I managed to meet with two beautiful women, the employees of the difficult, one can say, male profession, people on duty on Yuzhnaya and Povorotnaya rail stations of Bogatyr Loading and Transportation Department – Lyudmila Kolesnikova and Galina Denisova. Both women are so much different, but they are very much alike in one thing – they are in love with their jobs. They accept and send trains, control traffic. Their work is very sensitive, which requires a lot of attention.
Lyudmila Ismailovna did not say much about herself, but everything, what was most important for her. Her father had worked as a yardmaster for all his life. Often he took his loved daughter to his work. That is why, after the graduation from the 8th form, she knew for sure, who she wanted to be, and entered the mining technical secondary school. Upon finishing the study she went to the Eastern Kazakhstan for a year and a half. She returned to Ekibastuz in 1970. First she worked as a traffic controller, and since 2003 until the present time – as a person on duty at Yuzhnaya station. Lyudmila has two brothers: one works as a gas welder at Bogatyr mine, the second one – as a depot head. Her elder daughter followed her, by profession she is also a person on duty at the rail station, but she works at Maikuben mine.
Lyudmila Ismailovna has been awarded with the Labor Glory Award of three grades, she also has the award “The Honorable Employee of the Coal Industry”.
Lyudmila Ismailovna has three grown up children and five grandchildren.
The big family tries to celebrate the holidays, including the International Women’s Day, all together.
- It is not easy to get together for the 8th of March, as we work in different shifts, - Lyudmila Ismailovna says, - but if we manage to do so, then we lay the holiday table, the men pay attention to women, we have quests, like in other families.
Galina Vladimirovna Denisova thinks similarly to what Kolesnikova does, because she also spends much of her time at work. Happiness for a woman comprises of many minor things, which are sometimes ordinary. The sunny morning, the rime on the trees. But still at the end of February unwillingly you get the feeling of spring… And the forthcoming spring holiday. Of course, anticipation of surprises from relatives. Galina Vladimirovna confesses the most unusual gifts she got from her children, when they were at school. The gifts made with their own hands are still the dearest for her. Children are the continuation of parents. They are - her son and daughter – already grown up, still very attentive, like in their childhood. The parents taught them to be like this. Thoughtful, responsible, able to love and value relatives and friends. Like Galina Vladimirovna’s husband – Nikolay Nikolayevich, like herself. This is a tradition in their family: the husband always helps her in everything. It is a good and worthy of emulation example for the children, for family relations.
Galina Vladimirovna works in shifts. That is why, if a holiday falls on a day-off, then the 8th of March is celebrated on a large scale. From the very morning Nikolay Nikolayevich prepares pleasant surprises, flowers, and gifts. On March 8th this year Galina Vladimirovna comes from a night shift. She knows there will be a surprise waiting for her at home.
What can be more important for a woman – family happiness, loving children and husband close to you. And, of course, loved job. For her the job is really loved. Right after the graduation from the mining technical secondary school she had her production practice at Zapadnaya rail station and stayed to work there for 15 years. She took root of her profession – a person on duty at the rail station. And now, since 2003, she has been working as a person on duty at Povorotnaya rail station.
