In 2009 Bogatyr Coal, a joint venture of Samruk Kazyna Kazakhstani National Welfare Fund and RUSAL Russian company sold its customers as much 34.8 million tons of coal including 20.85 million tons sold the power enterprises of Kazakhstan and 13,95 million tons sold the power enterprises of Russia.

On the eve of Miners’ Day the Honor Board of Bogatyr Coal, LLP has been renewed: the old portraits of the best workers by the results of the company’s activity in 2008 were carefully removed and packed, and on their place there are seventeen new portraits now.

By the оld-established tradition the miners of Bogatyr Coal, LLP on the eve of the professional holiday give the names of their best representatives. They are awarded with departmental awards, they are honored at solemn meetings, they are given diplomas and cash bonuses.

Bogatyr Mine is divided into two complexes administratively: Bogatyrskey (Bogatyr mine itself) and Severny created on the basis of Severny Mine – the oldest mine of Ekibastuz coalfield. Today the old technology of coal mining is being converted to new, cycle-and-flow one stage-by-stage at Bogatyrskey complex using the hydraulic excavators, mine trucks, conveyors and conveyor loaders. The blending and dosed loading of coal to railway trains will be carried out at the Blending-and-Loading Complex according to the flow scheme.

The new automobile-and-railway technology of coal mining and transportation has been already implemented at Severny Complex; the use of the hydraulic excavators and mine trucks has been start here for the first time in the coal mining history. Coal is blended at the blending yard; it is shipped from stockpile to railway cars by bucket-wheel excavator. The project on mothballing of mining elevations on mining blocks 2 and 3 of Severny Complex is being implemented to form a temporary internal dump.
