In 2009 Bogatyr Coal, a joint venture of Samruk Kazyna Kazakhstani National Welfare Fund and RUSAL Russian company sold its customers as much 34.8 million tons of coal including 20.85 million tons sold the power enterprises of Kazakhstan and 13,95 million tons sold the power enterprises of Russia.

On the eve of Miners’ Day the Honor Board of Bogatyr Coal, LLP has been renewed: the old portraits of the best workers by the results of the company’s activity in 2008 were carefully removed and packed, and on their place there are seventeen new portraits now.

By the оld-established tradition the miners of Bogatyr Coal, LLP on the eve of the professional holiday give the names of their best representatives. They are awarded with departmental awards, they are honored at solemn meetings, they are given diplomas and cash bonuses.

The coal of Bogatyr Coal, LLP mined by open cast method, is designed for pulverized combustion in the heat power stations of Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as for household and utility needs.

The Ekibastuz coal has a number of attractive consumer characteristics that exclude the slagging of boiler units during its combustion, freezing in railway cars in winter period.

The coal is KSN grade (cocking, low-caking, low-metamorphised):

• Ash content for dry mass- 36-47%, average-42%;
• Moisture for working fuel-4,5-75, average-5%;
• Combustion heat of working fuel-4530-3600 ccal/kg, average-4024 ccal/kg.

The balance coal reserves for Bogatyr Complex (mine blocks 5,6,9,10) up to elevation –200 m are 1,346 bln tons.

The balance coal reserves for Severny Complex of Bogatyr Mine (mine blocks 1,2,3,4) up to elevation –200 m are 1,179 bln tons.

To provide all consumers with cola of high quality, Bogatyr Coal, LLP proceeded to stage-by-stage introduction of new technology of mining and coal blending. The Company strives for maximum promotion to successful activity of its clients, by supplying them a qualitative product with high consumer characteristics. The promotion of the Partnership’s product to Kazakhstani and Russian markets, as well as to the markets of CIS countries and expansion of coal sales geography is carried out by the Directorate for Marketing and Sales.

For last years the Directorate succeeded in achieving essential results. And namely, the long-term mutual relations with the largest energy systems of Kazakhstan and Russia (Ural). The mutual relations are formed up with main partners on coal transportation- Bogatyr Trans, LLP and JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.

Currently the Directorate is posed a problem directed at the development of flexible tariff policy, fixing of the achieved level of sales and entry to new sales markets.
