In 2009 Bogatyr Coal, a joint venture of Samruk Kazyna Kazakhstani National Welfare Fund and RUSAL Russian company sold its customers as much 34.8 million tons of coal including 20.85 million tons sold the power enterprises of Kazakhstan and 13,95 million tons sold the power enterprises of Russia.

On the eve of Miners’ Day the Honor Board of Bogatyr Coal, LLP has been renewed: the old portraits of the best workers by the results of the company’s activity in 2008 were carefully removed and packed, and on their place there are seventeen new portraits now.

By the оld-established tradition the miners of Bogatyr Coal, LLP on the eve of the professional holiday give the names of their best representatives. They are awarded with departmental awards, they are honored at solemn meetings, they are given diplomas and cash bonuses.

Bogatyr Coal, LLP is the largest and dynamically developing company in Kazakhstan on open cast mining. The share of the Partnership is 70% of the coal volume mined in Ekibastuz Coal Basin. In 2006, the Partnership mined and shipped 41,6 mm tons of coal to customers. According to expert association from the point of view of provision with advanced technologies the enterprise is considered to be an absolute leader of coal industry in Kazakhstan.

The coal of Bogatyr Coal, LLP is in demand both in Kazakhstan and in Russia. Annually the volume of export is up to 50% of total mining. In 2002, the Company concluded the 45-year contract with the Ministry for Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the development of Ekibastuz Coal Deposit within Bogatyr Mine and Severny Mine. The Partnership has also unlimited license for mining operations.

The Partnership increases permanently the effectiveness of coal mining. The program of prospective development of the enterprise is developed and is being implemented currently. The growth of coal mining is reflected on the salary of miners. For last five years the Wages Fund increased in Bogatyr Coal, LLP by 1,7 times, and salary – by 2,1 times.

The Regulation on Single System of Preventive Works for Labor Protection was implemented at Bogatyr Coal, LLP. The policy of the company was determined in the Regulation. Permanent analysis of environment, implementation of innovation developments, advanced equipment, facilities of collective protection in subdivisions and workplaces allow to reduce the production risks; it leads to reduction of dangerous and harmful production factors and as a result of it to reduction of injury and sickness rate of employees.

The company always gives charitable and sponsor support for all actions of Pavlodar Oblast and Ekibastuz City. The company appropriated over 3 billion tenge for these purposes during the period of its activity. It contributed to development of cultural and spiritual life of Pavlodar City significantly via rendering of financial aid to Pavlodar City Fund of Culture Support, Irtysh Sport Club, Blagoveshenskey Cathedral, Pavlodar Mosque, Charitable Fund of Ekibastuz City, football team and many others. A unique medical diagnostic center was built in the oblast center with direct assistance of the company.
