Bogatyr Coal, LLP is one of the world largest enterprises mining coal by an open-cast method at two coals mines called Bogatyr and Severny. The total industrial reserves of the company are about 3 billion tons of coal.

 

The production capacity of Bogatyr mine is 32 mm tons of coal per year, Severny mine - 10 mm tons of coal per year. 69% of the total volume of coal mined in Ekibastuz coal basin fall on the share of the company.

 

In 2002 the contract for development of Ekibastuz black coal deposit within the boundaries of Bogatyr and Severny mines was concluded for 45 years with Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The company also has an open-ended license for mining works.

 

In 2006 the enterprise received the international certificates ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004. The certification sphere: coal and crushed rock mining and transportation, maintenance of mining and technological equipment, and environmental management system.

 

Ekibastuz black coal deposit is situated in Pavlodar region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 22 km from the town of Ekibastuz.

Pavlodar region was created in January 1938, situated in the north-east of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The regional center is the town of Pavlodar. The population is 745,000 people. Pavlodar region is one of the major industrial regions of Kazakhstan. In the region there are about 5,000 actively operating enterprises of different patterns of ownership. The largest of them are JSC Aluminum of Kazakhstan, the branch of JSC TNK Kazchrome called Asku Ferroalloys Plant, JSC Eurasian Energy Corporation, JSC Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, JSC Pavlodar Machinery Plant, JSC Pavlodar Paperboard and Roofing Felt Plant and others.
